Cat Habits & Vet Trip

Have you noticed that your cats will attempt to bury their food after they are done with it? It traces back to their natural survival instincts - like what the wild cats do to save their food for later or to cover their tracks from predators. I caught Meuw doing that multiple times and it never fails to crack me up. He is always so thorough in burying his food that he spends minutes digging, then checking, digging again, walks away and then comes back again to dig until he is satisified. Too cute!

Since we brought Meuw home, he was never allowed on table tops and chairs for hygiene reasons. Everytime his two front paws land on the surface, we will bring him down immediately with a strict ‘No’. We kept at this for a long time until some time back when we were reviewing our security camera, we caught him exploring the kitchen, climbing on the appliances and sleeping on the kitchen top. It might sound silly but seeing how he knows when to misbehave appears cute to me haha! He is still not allowed to eat table scraps/ human food!

Side tracking, Meuw had his second vaccination today and his teeth/ gums checked. His gums are red and bleeding but fortunately, our vet told us that it is perfectly normal since he is teething. No brushing of teeth for now. We were also keen on transitioning him to fully raw diet after I read multiple articles about the benefits rendered by other cats who have had raw species appropriate diet. However, our vet recommended us to start raw only when he is a year old since his system cannot process a diet that is too rich in protein. Meuw will finally be having his final vaccination and neutering next month before we can bring him out on walks.

So excited!
