First Vaccination

Last week was Meuw's second vet trip to Animal Infirmary. I was informed that the ear mites were gone, so were the fungal skin infection. However, I have to continue with the usage of the medicated shampoo and slowly cut it down and ultimately discontinue it. He finally had his first vaccination. I was worried that Meuw might become sexually mature earlier than the usual 6 months and start spraying before he finish his 3 courses of vaccinations. He had been making weird meowing noises lately. Fortunately, the nurse gave him a check and confirmed that waiting another two months should be fine. Fingers crossed! Definitely don't want the house to smell like a giant toilet x10.

We also did bloodwork just to put my mind at ease, to ensure that he is fine on the inside as well as on the outside. I also read that having the bloodwork done at a young age can be used to set as a baseline for future tests. It turned out great!

So while we were there, the vet suggested that I get another kitten to accompany Meuw. Although cats are generally more independent than dogs, they still require love, attention and most importantly, play. I always feel bad when I see Meuw looking lonely (or maybe he isn't feeling lonely but he just looked like he was, lol). There are times when I am busy working on something and he would nibble at my leg suggesting play. I had to brush him off. Then I see him roaming around and going to sleep in the end; like 'argh, nothing to do.... okay then, I shall sleep' kind of vibe. I might be too sensitive. I would love to have another kitten but the vet and food expenses would go up. Most importantly, Meuw is the best cat I have seen. He doesn't scratch on furniture, he doesn't pee/ shit everywhere, he listens to instructions well, he is not too vocal, not destructive at all, plays with every toy I provide him with, not very picky with food and extremely soft and cuddly. I cannot imagine having another cat that I cannot control and ruining the peace at home.

But then again, it's nice for him to have a playmate. What do you think? Please share if you have been through this dilemma!
